Advertising Terms
The long-form terms that govern how we book, produce and run advertising placements.
Last updated: September 22, 2026
1. Scope
These Advertising Terms apply to the three formats sold on our Advertise page: the Sprout Newsletter Mention, Lakeshore Podcast Mentions and the Full Frond Partnership. They sit alongside our general Terms of Use.
2. Booking
A placement is booked once we confirm your chosen format, run dates and price in writing by email. No placement is scheduled on the basis of a verbal enquiry alone.
3. Creative deadlines
For a Sprout Newsletter Mention, final creative is due three business days before the first edition runs. For Lakeshore Podcast Mentions, a briefing call must be completed at least ten business days before the first recording. For a Full Frond Partnership, a planning call must take place at least two weeks before the first placement of the six-week run. Creative received after a deadline may push the run to the next available slot.
4. Approval
Written copy for a newsletter sponsor line and scripts for podcast mentions are sent to you for approval before publication or recording. We will not run creative you have not approved, but we may decline creative that is inaccurate, unlawful or inconsistent with our editorial standards.
5. Make-goods
If we fail to run a confirmed placement on the agreed date for a reason within our control — for example, an edition sent without your approved sponsor line — we will offer a make-good run in the next available edition or episode at no extra charge, or a proportional refund if a make-good isn't practical.
6. Reporting
Open counts for newsletter placements and listen counts for podcast placements are sent once the relevant run finishes. These figures describe engagement with the specific edition or episode carrying your placement; they are not a projection or a guarantee for future runs.
7. Editorial independence
Advertising placements are clearly labelled as advertising and are produced separately from our editorial coverage. Booking an advertising placement does not entitle an advertiser to editorial coverage, and editorial coverage is never offered or withheld in exchange for an advertising booking.
8. Payment and refunds
See our Payment & Refund Policy, Returns Policy and the full Payment & refund policy page for how a booking may be cancelled or refunded.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Advertising Terms from time to time. The date below reflects the most recent revision.
